About

The Somatic Practice and Chronic Pain Network brings together researchers/practitioners from dance, health and digital design as well as people living with pain, to explore chronic pain management. In particular, it focuses on a group of dance and movement approaches called ‘somatic practices‘.

The network aims to:

  • Raise awareness of current research in somatic practice & chronic pain
  • Catalyse new practice and research in the area
  • Develop interdisciplinary and international exchanges/activities
  • Practice equality, diversity and inclusion in all our work

The network has organised events to share knowledge and develop ideas. We have also published articles, blogs and other resources, along with sharing practices on dance, somatic practices and chronic pain.

The network was funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council UK to create a series of events and activities.
