This network brings together experts from dance, health and digital design as well as people living with pain to explore chronic pain management. In particular, it focuses on a group of dance and movement approaches called ‘somatic practices’.
Somatic practices bring awareness to habits of behaviour, open up movement capacity, support taking ownership of one’s own bodily experience, and help in articulating complex bodily experiences.
The network will ask:
- How can an exchange between somatic practices and health extend an understanding of chronic pain management?
- Can technology offer ways of capturing and sharing somatic practices; as well as recording, mapping and communicating chronic pain?
- What can a transdisciplinary network offer back to each of the disciplines, as an equal exchange of expertise?
The network is organising events to share knowledge and develop ideas.
